Introduction
Hyss is a Naval Architecture application, which has been developed and used for research and consulting for more than two decades.
It includes 3D free form hull geometry and compartments modelling, calculations of hydrostatics, intact and damage stability, hull girder loading, power prediction and propeller optimization. Several unique mathematical procedures for modelling and calculations are included in an extraordinary compact package.
The application is developed in Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) and runs within Microsoft Excel (from 97) under both PC Windows and Mac OS. The extraordinary high precision and unlimited possibilities for processing of results makes it suitable for experts and professionals. At the same time the straight-forward and simple interface together with formatted output and a very low license cost makes it available for any interested yacht owner for private use.
